He probably just leaves the village, goes around the world and comes back whenever the hell he wants.

If we are talking about shinobi rank, then most likely jonin. He doesn't seem to look like someone out of ANBU and his movie render clothing is not ANBU either. So most likely he never was allowed to join.

If we talk about overall status - possibly anti-hero, probably hated by village, but at same time kinda respected.

I think Kishi left some things here and there in the 700th chapter to continue on in the new 2015 Naruto chapters for the new author. For instance, that page with Sasuke thinking something was following him but guessing he just thought incorrectly. Could be Orochimaru still planning to take Sasuke's body. With Sasuke as a rogue ninja now, it would take time for Konoha to find out he might have been abducted.

Well anbus don't carry bag and they always have mask on. He has a sword....So he is still a shinobi. he might be ding some odd jobs. he can't quit his ninja life style very easily.

But Danzo didn't have any mask on and was still the ANBU leader no?

Uchiha's age terribly. I mean Naruto doesn't look a day over 20, but Sasuke looks like Madara/Fugaku.

Naruto's balding and his whiskers look like wrinkles. Sasuke still looks young and cool, with a full head of hair and nice dress sense.
