Does anyone really believe orochimaru just up and turned good?
i don't believe it, also he seemed pretty pleased to get his hands on a zetsu body, he probably has some of hashirama's powers now. I dont think the 3rd believes it either.
Of course he didn't turn good. I believe he's waiting til Sasuke and everyone are vulnerable to take Sasuke's body.
Edit: I believe he'll do so after observing Sasuke's path, he's a curious person so I do believe he would like to see how Sasuke will turn out.
I believe he's neither good or bad he's just a scientist does he want sasuke body sure can he take it right now definitely
But what would tht solve there would still b a war I believe he feels there r more pressing matters
I'm not exactly sure he wants to take sasuke body at the moment cuz he has respect for how much sasuke has grown
Now with tht being said if team oro comes across the fallen Kages if he sees tsunade he will go ape shit and want to fight madara personally witch would push him to the good side
But he will never go back to village cuz he can't he's done too much shit
Orochimaru is a very patient shinobi, a very intelligent one too. I believe that he is both genuinely interested in helping Sasuke but at the same time is making his next move, or plotting it. I suppose I could start off with why I believe Orochimaru is helping Sasuke.
Helping Sasuke
The main reason that Orochimaru wants to help Sasuke, or join him in the war, is because he is interested to see how things go. Despite what we all believe, Orochimaru has emotions. He has shown them several times. Hell, he even had a moment much like the one he said Sasuke was having, to Suigetsu, when he was attacking his former sensei.
And he let loose a tear. Orochimaru's main reason for being corrupt and power hungry is so that he can discover the truth of this world. I suppose it's due to a gradual mental deterioration as time went on. It started with his parents death, and was increased with both Nawaki and Dan's death.
He was probably the sensei to Nawaki, it does make sense. He felt guilty that he couldn't defend a student who relied on him, even worse was the fact that he was the younger brother of Tsunade. A close friend to him. This likely did not improve his mental state... At all.
Dan's death also pained him, but I think that was more or less because of how it hurt Tsunade. It seemed at one point that both Tsunade's team mates loved her. Either as a sister, or in other ways. A fear of death and possibly a way to prevent others from dying (Most likely his teammates) probably pushed him off into the world of experiments. Where a dark lust for power eventually made him lose sight of his original goal.
And after being rejected by his Sensei for the position of Hokage, for a man in his early twenties and trained by a rival. This was a mean insult. After this, Orochimaru felt betrayed and wanted Konoha to pay. Wanted to hurt his sensei emotionally. The best way to do that was to just experiment and ruin the lives of the people he loved. Konoha's population. Most likely Shinobi.
After viewing how Kabuto went about things, and that the path he chose not only ended in his demise but the downfall of a student and a son-figure, this probably sent a message right to Orochimaru's core. I firmly believe that Orochimaru grew to think of Kabuto more than just a loyal subject, I'd say it was at least a mutual familiar feeling.
And now he sees Sasuke, someone who is very similar to Orochimaru. They both lost their parents, lost those close to them, and fled the village. Sasuke also chose a different path, instead of copying Orochimaru's ways he developed his own path and set off to Kill Itachi.
The main thing is that he didn't try to mimic Orochimaru, and it seemed the path Sasuke was going down was far more enjoyable then his own. And Orochimaru is wanting to see if he himself can go follow Sasuke too. But first he must see what Sasuke does, and how those he left feel about him.
What he could be plotting?
Orochimaru, as I stated earlier, is a dark and hideous perverse man. He will realize that the Eye of the Moon plan is no good for him. Now, he either has a way around this or doesn't think they will succeed. They being Madara and Obito. The reason why I think this is because of one of the first things he says after being revived.

Obviously if he was going to be plunged into a world of eternal genjutsu he would care. But he must have something up his sleeve or enough faith in the shinobi alliance to win. I'm unsure of this, but I'll lean to the latter option.
Then, why exactly is he going to the battle with the Edo Kage? Well, a page or two before the one I just posted will explain it. He wants the sharingan still. With only one living wielder of the EMS, the highest evolution of the sharingan. I would consider the Rinnegan a whole nother animal when it comes to Dojutsu.
But yeah, he needs to reassure himself that Sasuke won't injure his precious eyes. And when Uchiha are on the right path, we sure as hell know they put their lives on the line for their comrades.

And, as Sasuke already requested that he want to meet with the Hokage and Sasuke decided to fight against Akatsuki, when not use them to protect and make the victory all the easier.
Orochimaru's plans are similar enough to Kabuto's. Have both sides destroy each other. If this scenario does come out to be the case, The second Madara, Obito, and The Juubi are done with. . The Edo Kage are turning on the Alliance.
So in short:
Orochimaru is making sure Sasuke lives, he does need his eyes.
His plans are to either have both sides kill each other, or have the Shinobi alliance so weakened they can not interfere with him after the war.
I personally believe that Orochimaru could be having a change of heart, but at the same time he still desires Sasuke's eyes and is just making sure that, if he decides to continue with his old ways, Sasuke is living and the EMS are in prime condition.
