What Naruto saw inside Sasuke?

After Sasuke had Defeated Danzou and ran into team 7 the reason that Naruto decided not to fight him then was simply because he could sense that Sasuke was stronger.
Still it wasn't that simple. Sasuke was weakened physically and was low in chakra, but Naruto sensed something inside Sasuke .
Something so strong that it forced him into the choice of training to gain control of the nine-tails.

What did Naruto see and why did this scare him?

It might have indeed been his hatred, but I don't think its good to just right something off as a character's mistake when there is no proof of it being so.

Naruto said he was resolved to die with Sasuke so I don't think he had a problem with resolve.

I think naruto did not want to fight sasuke then because he had something planned for the next time they met. I don't see what the point of that altercation was if they were going to make sasuke good anyway

But anyways (like I said many times, sasuke's susanoo is like his jin in terms of power & chakra) That is what Naruto saw inside sasuke and also what sasuke saw inside of naruto in part 1 and 2. So I guess Naruto will probably see the other version of it in genjutsu or in battle. ​

Yes, because sasuke never intended to kill Naruto (well he did, but that was all talk at the bridge). Neither never really wanted to kill each other but sasuke had to wadge his best friend and his brother.​

No. Naruto simply saw the hatred inside Sasuke, that he's ready to even kill Sakura and Kakashi on sight, he never saw any Susanoo or genjutsu

That's not what I'm talking about, its not about the genjutsu because naruto doesn't need to get genjutsu'd to see hatred.

He saw the hatred that was in sasuke and sasuke saw the hatred inside Naruto in the same way.​

Naruto wasn't talking about a physical fight, he wanted to save Sasuke from his hatred inside by Naruto sensed it was too strong for him to take on then, he needed the experience of fighting someone with pure hatred, which is why he decided then to fight Kurama

But Madara's hatred is far more powerful than the fox, and the fox compared sasuke to madara but that was so long ago, so you could only imagined if sasuke and naruto would have fought on that scale o.o But I think that hatred is gone but doesn't mean it can't spawn again (should be susanoo actually)​
