Before we even start I'm saying it's a theory. It's what I think will happen and if you agree too, cool. Let's get into it then shall we?
Naruto states that if he and Sasuke fight again, they will both die:
I've always taken it as the literal sense in that they will clash and both of them will just be dead. However, when I think more into it, maybe it means one of them will die physically and the other will die mentally. Regardless of whether fapboys want to agree, Naruto and Sasuke were best friends in part 1. They competed in everything they did. Sasuke did have deep feelings for Naruto, which is why he spared him at VoTE.
Sasuke even says in the recent chapters that he wants to be the one who erases the history between them. He realizes although he has been attempting to sever this bond since the end of part 1 until now, he can't. If he had completely severed it, why would he say he wants to erase the past? He's like Obito in that sense. He claims to have left everything behind, but when we delve deeper into his character, he hasn't, and actually wants all of the things he claims to have left behind(His old team, his love interest, the seat of the hokage, etc.)
Which is where I think plot will take in. We'll likely get one more arc after the war, but it won't be a long arc. Just a short arc to give us a time skip and a recap of what has happened since the war. It will likely then skip to a point in Naruto and Sasuke's fight. Both going all out with their upgrades and what not. They will clash with their trademark abilities(Rasengan and Chidori) and Kishi will end it with that cliffhanger. Sasuke and Naruto talking inside their minds. Both understanding what the other feels. Sasuke finally accepting Naruto as an equal and as a friend. Of course we won't know who won, but we'll be left with the satisfaction that they accepted each other in the end. Just as the Naruto and Sasuke fanboys will do when the series ends.
Thanks for the read and comment what you think.
