[Discussion] What motivates you?

This thread is like the title says, what do you use to motivate yourself? All throughout high school I was accused of lacking drive and purpose. I did not get in to the college I always wanted to go to. It devastated me to be honest. Now as a college student, I am motivated to not fail twice, as I want to go there for grad school. To show all the people that said I can't that I can and did. When you feel failure is not an option, it's a great feeling and the confidence rubs off into your everyday life.

What motivates you to work in your school/occupation? A person, ideal, past failure, prove others wrong? I'm curious to know because this is where I'm at in my life. They say failure leads to change, and change leads to success. And nothing will stop me from accomplishing my goals.

My parents. When I was in high school, i did not take advantage of anything and my parents tried their best to help me out anyways. Now that I'm in college, i still don't take advantage of many things as i should be, but i'm alot better than i was back then cause my parents kept me going and to try harder.
i'll be honest, even though i have a career im striving for, my mind is saying that this is for my parents which makes me wonder if my strife is actually for me or just to make my parents proud of me.

Naruto-Kun and Sasuke-kun are what push me to do my best because the anime and mainly them two have effected me and and more important than people i meet every day and even most of my friends.

alot of the time i do think what would naruto / sasuke do.

thats what motivates me and i take parts from both of them like naruto never taking back his word or running away and like sasuke wanting to know eveything before making a decision. so i guess in short there ninja ways combined create the way ill live my life (wow glad i don't know anyone in real life on here xd) p.s not going to bother checking for typos and sorry xd you probably didnt want such a long answer

The fact people look down upon is is the motivation. My sixth grade teacher told me I wouldn't pass middle school let alone get into college.. So I proved him Wrong, and i went on a career path that people told me would lead to no where. I like to prove people wrong.
