Heh, well

His design was first (not looks since I don't consider him to be good-looking). I have this thing for long hair/ponytail combo.

Then I kind of grew attached to him since I also liked his type of character (the emotionless killing machine who is just a tool for his organization and puts his mission above everything else). And him being a minor character was only a plus since I went ahead and wrote a lot of backstory for him. I've always had a tendency to like minor characters anyway.

So in short, it's mostly because of my fanfic tendencies, and the fact that he just happened to be the proper "material" for me.

Ther's just always been certain qualities I have been drawn to. I usually tend to like the conflicted character. One who may be gruff on the outside, but has a soft side underneath, and possibly some inner demons / turmoil.

So when I got into Naruto, my favorite character was Kakashi. And I stopped reading for a few years when he didn't show up as much. And in D.Gray-Man, the character I care most about is Cross Marian - but we sure as hell won't see him for a while.

Then I am a sucker for tight fraternal relations. So KinGin caught my attention there. They seemed like the series' closest brothers. They're badass, feared, powerful. But they were two brothers who actually cared about each other and got along well, despite their very different demeanors.

They are incredible as a duel, the former never abdicates a battle and is always seeking to comfort others whereas the latter is a genius who protects from the shadows. I also like the fact that the aforementioned individuals possess the Six Paths Sage Mode and the Six-Tomoe Rinnegan.

My fav is clearly one of the characters that endured the most pain when he was young. Independent and smart as hell he was always the best at everything he did, excelling at every challenge that he faced.

He used to have the Sharingan and was respected as a Shinobi, even feared by some of the strongest Ninjas alive, now.. He just keeps his battle knowledge and what he learned from life shapes him as one of the most life knowing Shinobis alive.
