I like him because he made people see that he's not going be a dead last. I like how he proves himself that he isn't useless and can rival the likes of the top-tier Ninjas.

I started liking him when he stated that he isn't going to run away after the whole Demon Brothers thing. The Chunin Exams and the Gaara fight made me personally like him more.

I wouldn't say great. But he's likable to me in my eyes.
