What makes Minato unique and special

Minato is definetly special. He created Techniques that required no hand seals to allow for faster execution of techniques and that they don't tie up his hands for an extra second or so. He also created a technique that would allow him to transport himself anywhere in the blink of an eye again with no hand seals. That alone has its own advantages and allows him to take out whole battle fields by himself and protect his village.

The big thing that makes Minato Special is that he has a huge heart, sacrificing himself in order to protect his wife and always do whats best for the people around him. That's why people of the village respected him and looked to him for leadership.

He is also a fierce warrior fast and cunning, and can always see a way out, no matter what? even if it kills himself. He is also feared because of his skill set. Especially when ninja's from other countries were order to flee on site.

Minato is Awesome.

Sasuke is where it's at. Orochimaru admitted himself that his genius surpassed his time when they called him one. Oro was called a prodigy only seen once in a generation just like Minato.

Furthormore anyone considered a genius without a special trait of gene would do something to make themselves stronger anyway.

a tad dramatic, but yes that's what's interesting about minato, he didn't start with any special skill apart from intelligence and possibly speed (he may have worked on that like sasuke and lee did), and creating your own jutsu from scratch, especially such amazing ones, is always a plus. and, very few ninja have skills with fuinjutsu and barrier techniques, and they're awesome. it's a pity we didn't see minato and kushina's full arsenal, maybe in the road to ninja movie. I hope Kishi doesn't do a lost tower and make minato a backstage character to Naruto, Minato would easily have trashed that puppet bitch in the manga.

FTG was most probably not created by Minato. Remember 2nd Hokage was also able to use this technique.
I love Minato. Minato is one of the talented and Brilliant Ninja ever. But if we were to compare his powers to another Ninjas, like you said, he would most probably turn out to be weaker. All we have seen from him are: FTG, Great Speed without FTG(this could be observed when he rescued Naruto from Tobi), Rasengan and great analysis of opponent. There are tons of Ninjas that have surpassed him in power: Naruto, Sasuke, Itachi, Madara, Tobi(with Rinnegan of course), Hashirama, Hiruzen, Orochimaru, Kabuto and the list goes on and on.. Remember it takes much more than just power to defeat an opponent like will of fire makes Konoha Shinobi much Stronger...

I agree with you in most cases. But still Minato has been given lesser powers compared to other characters by Kishi himself.. This makes me sad, after all I want him to be a bada** like Naruto..

Minato is definatly one of the most powerful and unique characters in the series. Madara and Hashirama may be more powerful but they have in born traits while Minato invented many jutsus and was a natural genius.

I know Kishi talked about a prequel series about a young Minato. I hope he does it.

I agree on all of what you said except first 2 sentences. FTG is a spacee time tech that minato created and 4 people only know how to use it.
