What Makes Gaiden New/Different?

What makes the new manga series different from the previous Naruto manga? When Sarada asks Sakura, her supposed mother, if Sakura really is her biological mother, Sakura says she is. It was hinted that Karin was possibly the mother of Sarada instead and that something is being hidden from her. Why can't characters just be honest with each other? If Karin actually is the mother, it wouldn't be the first time an adolescent Uchiha has been deceived. I really hope Kishi tries to do something different with Gaiden and turns over a new leaf instead of just recycling Part 1/Shippuden material. Any thoughts?

Note: I know it may be too early to start questioning Gaiden, but personally I think it's looking pretty similar to what we have already seen. I like novelty I guess.

It wasn't really supposed to be over nothing, but it's your opinion and I'm not going to try to change it. And as for the confirmation I literally have no idea what you're talking about. I'm on and off with this stuff, I move at my own pace so some clarification would be nice.

It isn't any different really. Except for Cho-Cho. That makes it very different. The amount of stupidity in a single character is...I don't even know. Cho-Cho is...why does she even exist?
