I have always liked Naruto. He stands by his convictions and is willing to die doing the right thing. He is driven and ambitious, kind and strong. A great lead character.

I really don't care for him, he nice an all, but his likability it unrealistic, everyone like him and life is effected because of him. Narcissist much, He has this Likability Genjutsu placed around him.

In the beginning I hated him, so annoying. Sasuke and Kakashi were the reason I stayed on. He grew on me after the time skip little by little. His Determination, love for his comrades and "gutsy" attitude are the reason I like him now.

Something that I think a lot of people need to fully understand is that Naruto isn't just some light-hearted, naive, TNJ machine. Naruto is actually the darkest person in the manga. You mock him for being able to treat anyone with such kindness, even terrorists, mass murderers, etc...Of course the reason you mock him for this is because you yourselves don't have that capacity, right? Think about it for a minute. Think about how much pain it would cause you to just forgive people for anything, to always smile. Do you have any clue how empty Naruto is inside? You think Sasuke is tough for wanting to be alone? For wanting to run away from his problems and hide, afraid of being hurt? Naruto holds in what Sasuke expressed outwardly. On the inside, Naruto is infinitely stronger than Sasuke acts. Sasuke, on the other hand, was (up until 698) the same frightened, crying 7 year-old, desperately seeking recognition, but afraid that he could never get it, afraid of people. Naruto was willing to take any amount of pain for other people's sakes. Could you do that? Could you spend every day trying to bring back someone who was nothing but condescending toward you, for the sake of a girl you loved, even knowing that bringing him back would mean that you could never be with that girl? That's honestly just a minor burden compared to everything else Naruto did, but his relationship with Sakura is pretty depressing when I think about it.

When you say it's unrealistic for someone like Naruto to exist, think about why. The reality is that you're only claiming it's unrealistic because you are too weak to do it yourself.

He was meant to represent hard work, yet Kishi screwed it and made him the descendant of Ashura, which ****ed it up.

Plus he called Obito the coolest guy ever

The fact that he gets on with it.

Unlike many of the bratty villains who whined about their life and why that excuses them in being selfish, Naruto moved forward steadily and surely and never faltered.

Yeah, I don't like him. He was tolerable until the last arc though. :| At some point his character lost all connection to realism
I somewhat agree. I don't hate or like Naruto but I did respect his righteousness and most importantly....

...His will to endure and do the right thing despite the situation.

I was a fan of the underdog thing he had going for him in part 1 and the 1st half of part 2.

I do agree once he was revealed as the child of prophecy, son of the 4th Hokage, Ashura transmigrate, The underdog thing went out the door and his preachy demeanor began to sour him a bit for me. But I digress, I don't really have anything against him other than minor gripes....

...which is more Kishi's fault then Naruto's.

(Starts the slow clap)

This right here. I love how many claim Naruto's personality is unrealistic when we've seen people like him throughout our own history. What you described here is the Saviour archetype. and I agree with what your posted here. Good job :win:

This is very much based on my opinion, but the main point in which I call Naruto unrealistic is his handling of Obito. I liked how he was shown handling Nagato as well as Zabuza, for the shear fact that Naruto went straight from fighting the guy who killed your allies to admiring him. I don't find that realistic at all. In Nagato's case Naruto felt anger about all that had happened, but he swallowed it. That takes guts, and in time Naruto even admired Nagato, but it wasn't an immediate process.

I am well aware of how strong Naruto is, and that strength is indeed admirable, but strength is not the reason that I prefer Sasuke over Naruto. Sasuke's acting out can be seen as childish and u can say that he is weak for not overcoming his hatred and instead lashing out, but if I am being 100% real I can't blame him for it. A lot of ppl would probably feel the same way if that type of thing happened to him and that is y I say Sasuke is more realistic and as such I can better empathize with his character.

Anyway the Savior archetype doesn't suit my tastes one bit

Naruto and Sasuke are 2 sides of the same coin. And I respect what you posted here. I honestly don't consider Sasuke "weak" in that respect, I considered him misguided.

I too don't blame him for being the way he turned out. After all, he had been manipulated by Itachi, Obito, even Madara. And during his last fight with Naruto at the VOTE, I grew to understand what it is he tried to due though I didn't agree with his methods.

To take on the darkness of the world by becoming the embodiment of everyone's hatred is no less weak than what Naruto set out to accomplish.

It's not really a matter of realistic or unrealistic. Both of their views are very realistic. It just comes down to who you associate with more given your own personality.

For me it's Naruto because I too am an Idealist so I associate with his views more, but that doesn't mean Sasuke is unrealistic or even childish. He just went down the opposite path. This could have easily happened to Naruto as well had he not steeled his will.

By childish I meant when he tried to destroy Konoha and even he admitted that ppl could consider it so. But, I could understand it because when I was about 15 or 16 when I was pissed I tried to piss others off as well. I wanted others to feel as angry as I was. Anyway I get your point. Personally I consider myself as a realist/ pessimist. Though I do know a lot of good ppl. I don't have that much faith in the goodwill of mankind as a whole. Which is the basis of Naruto's dream

Talking to rude Sasuke fan's is like talking to a wall. Most cannot have a basic conversation bro, I mean look at this thread and their hate. They can't even stay in their lane U_U
dont start acting like some of you naruto fans are any better. if you didnt notice it was one of you who brought sasuke into this, a post which you liked btw

i like naruto for his personality.
he's a true role model, he acts exactly like a human being should.
he fights for his goals, he shares love to EVERYONE, he's a hero
he's loyal, a bit too naive, kind, generous, and all of that which makes a human a good human.

and for sasuke fangirls... i'm still having trust issues o_O i'd never feel safe around one...
sasuke's personality is wicked, seriously... psychopatic murderous sicko that cares about no one?
who has political views like Hitler... how can people like such person? o_O

i thought it was a lie that girls like "bad boys" cuz i certainly don't and none of my girl friends do either... they're gross, make us sick and wanna puke :3

but all y'all girls luv him... i find that hard to believe :3
the clown brought up and bashed sasuke even when the thread had ziltch to do with him but you apparently had no problems with that and also ive seen you talk some nonsense about sasuke but no one attacks your post so get over it that someone is not saying sweet things about naruto, it happens.

OT. he was alright in part 1, a bit tolerable but after that the character imo became pathetic. although what he stands for overall is ok.

Not blaming you at all Uchiha Senju. Just quoting the last person

Can you guys stop fighting, if you are? Let's just keep the peace ... "What do you like about Naruto" -- not "What don't you like about Naruto"

Lol my bad, didnt really mean to start any sort of fight, its all childish anyway.

as for naruto, his never give up attitude is alright, am sort of like that so i have no qualms about it. that and also he was a very good friend to my fave. as for what i dont like about him well a lot but dont wanna ruin the thread so ill leave things like that.
