What level are the genin in the original chunin exams?

I'd say all are genin level besides Sasuke, gaara, Lee, and neji, and I guess shika.

Actually yea, probably temari too. But nin rank isn't just based on power. This is shown when shika becomes a chunnin. Battle wise yea, gaara's jounin; lee, neji,Sasuke, kankuro, and temari are chunnin. The rest are genin battle wise (naruto has power but his actual combat skills are still pretty sh tty. And shino just happened to be a bad match up for kankuro... Plus, you know... Plot)

Even though Naruto is an idiot I would actually say he's low - mid chunin level.
He can control some of Kurama's chakra.
Make 1000 shadow clones. He was pretty much a master with that technique at such a young age.
Can summon a great toad sage.
If you say Neji was above genin level you gotta give Naruto some recognition too. Inb4 plot.

Neji:Mid-High Chuunin
Lee: Based on abilities Mid-High Chuunin. Intelligence,leadership,strategic and analytical skill- Mid Genin.
TenTen- High Genin ( I want to put her higher but she basically showed nothing in part 1. Gai,Neji, and Lee had alot of faith in her abilities.)
Kiba-Mid Genin
Hinata- Low Genin
Shino-Low Chunin(IMO) Seems to had alot of potential and was the type to analyze the battle like Shikamaru
Ino-Very Low Genin, only thing going for her was her mind transfer .
Shikamaru- Mid Chuunin, Battle Prowess-Genin
Chouji-Low Genin
Sasuke- Low-Mid Chunin
Naruto- High Genin
Sakura- Lol, academy graduate.

Orochimaru's goons? Seeing as how one lost to a fatigued Sasuke who was also suffering side effects from the curse mark, and the other got literally low diffed by Kanukuro. I put them at low-mid Genin. They had nice abilities though.
