its not a special type of chakra nor is it a kekkei genkai its just a secret jutsu only passed down from their clan so everyone is capable of doing the jutsu if they knew how to

Not all jutsus have chakra natures. I think the Naras shadow control is just them putting chakra into their shadows allowing them control. So it is possible they have many different natures amongst them.
