The nine tailed beasts were created by so6p with yin and yan release where his dreams take form and his fantasies become reality.
It must have been a daunting task to create these nine beasts and it would therefor be easier to create them as something close to a creature you know already, than to create them as something completely new and unseen. That way you can let off a litle the the imagination-part and put more energy into the creating-part
