Are cliques like an American thing or something? Genuine question because I see them in movies but never saw them back in high school lel.

I don't think there were cliques in my school. No group had one particular label cause they were usually a mix of personalities.

Our group itself had quiet people, sporty people, smart-a.ses/smartypants, and I guess what you guys would call 'popular'. And no one was confined to one group, we pretty much talk to anyone we knew if we wanted to talk to them.
