what killed hashi

hashi is known as a god, the strongest shinobi since the so6p, not even madara was stronger, so how did he die?
it wasnt old age only madara was brung back with a special edo, every one else was brung back at the age they died
well hashi looks like he was in his prime (an thats also why i think thats why tobimara made the edo in the first place, to bring back hashi) but still, what or who killed the most powerful shinobi in the ninja world (at that time)

He died after his battle with Madara. His regen jutsu should have prevented this but Madara and him clashed to the point where hashi had no more chakra. He probably thought Madara had died there too
