Apparently they all need someone to be leader of the base. So I think I'm going to assassinate you soon. Just a heads up.

Alright then. Just a heads up I'm going to tax you into a box.

"evolution is not a scientific fact!!!!! has it ever been proven?? NO!! Were you there when the earth was created?? NO!! Was anyone there when the earth was created?? NO!! How can you say this is fact? There is absolutely no way to prove this THEORY therefore it is NOT a fact is simply a belief."

Pure utter rage or just amazement or maybe you will kindly explain?

To be fair, all science can ever do about the past is draw inferences. If I look outside and see that the road is wet, I infer that it has rained. But I cannot prove that to be the case without direct observation. I can give evidence to resolve the most probable explanation given the known factors - but that's all that can be done.

That said, I think people tend to be too stupid for their own good, when it comes to scientific discussions.

On one hand, most people I've encountered in discussion supporting Evolution tend to operate purely off of dogma. They regurgitate a text book and/or the correct answers they put onto a test one year, and that's the depth of their knowledge.

On the other hand, a lot of the creationists I've run into want to be ridiculously set on "things had to 'poof.'" In doing so, they tend to cheapen the value of the interesting findings that they use to support their argument. Then you even get a few others who want to argue that the Earth is only a few thousand years old.

Most individuals on either 'side' of the discussion do not display much in the way of an intelligent understanding of their 'side.' One side just happens to have course cirriculum on its side to make it feel like they are more intelligent for repeating their strain of dogma.

My reaction is just chill, man.

Everyone's entitled to their own beliefs, and jumping down someone's throat if they don't agree with you is making you just as bad. Move one with your life. The sooner you start accepting other people's opinions, the sooner they start accepting yours, and if not, oh well.

It's no skin off one's back if 'random guy' thinks one is a complete lunatic. What's the point in arguing over an age-old discussion that men and women have fought, and killed over, for countless years? All it does is create more hate for people to foster against one another.

Just let things go.

I've never had a science teacher let alone a biology teacher say evolution is a fact and they don't believe in a God. Get off your high horse and chill.

People need to take a back seat sometimes. Creationist said this...Athiest said that...who cares? Anyone will give you an ear if you can discuss intelligently and provide evidence and claims to support your idea. They might not accept it, but they will respect your opinion if you are simply not a sheep. Being aggressive with your point won't help either trying to get a point across.

Since exact details, mechanisms and blah blah blah are rather complex, confusing and some aspects still under discussion.... u cant really expect non-experts (especially voluntary ones') to understand or discuss that. But its the young earthers, the geocentric group and the flat earthers that drives me to the limit of my patience and tolerance.....

Read: and

Also let me quote:
In 2004, Daniel Shenton (not related to Samuel[29]) resurrected the Flat Earth Society, basing it around a web-based discussion forum.[30] This eventually led to the official relaunch of the society in October 2009,[31] and the creation of a new website, featuring the largest public collection of Flat Earth literature in the world and a user-edited encyclopaedia.[32] Moreover, the society began accepting new members for the first time since 2001, with musician Thomas Dolby becoming the first member to join the newly reconvened society. As of March 2012, around 420 people have become members.[33] Shenton has also conducted several interviews since the society's relaunch, including in The Guardian newspaper.[2]

A related forum of the International Alliance of Flat Earth Groups is currently inactive.[34] The Flat Earth Society is also represented on Twitter[35] and Facebook.[36]

Current proponents of the Flat Earth Society do not have a central alternative theory; different members have unique ideas on how the Earth is constructed. Some claim that it is a finite plane of unknown extent accelerating upwards at 9.8 m/s2, while others claim it is an infinite plane.[37]

PS U may like to visit the FSTDT section of ........ u may entertained for hours. A note of warning: Those comments are real but may suffer from Poe's Law.

I literally had someone say something similar to me. They asked me my belief on evolution and I explained. Then they told me how I could possibly believe that since it's all untrue and that creationism was the proven truth. I smiled and kindly said... "You asked me my belief, I told you it. You then said my belief was not true and said yours is the truth. I'm not the type of a-hole to bash other peoples beliefs, I would appreciate if you did the same."

They apologized and left me alone for the rest of class. Shouldn't retaliate, instead, make them feel guilty as hell.

You can make anything "consistent" with evolution. The theory is so malleable that the only real thing evolving is the theory itself.

Pretty much this
People have their own beliefs. One thinks it's dumb, the other thinks its not. Learn to accept and just be friends.

What is wrong with you ? Don't pretend to know what you're talking about when it couldn't be further away from the actual theory *claps*

Eh, I try to tell them why I think the way they do.
For the same reasons as them reading a book from a few millennium ago and disputing it as fact.
Plus, there's more evidence for Evolution than there is Creation, so I just stick with that.
But I'd never insult their beliefs unless they insulted mine.
