I like the movies, all except the sixth (which feels too rushed). I've watched the rest of the movies multiple times and own all seven books, well my brother owns them. I've only read the first 3 and that was years ago. Regardless, I still like it. It was quite an entertaining series of movies.

character's history isn't that good . I mean comparing to Naruto's characters history ... for example :nagato , itachi , Sasuke , Naruto , Madara .... but H.P villain is much better than Kaguya ... tho his purpose isn't at kaguya's level .. the rest of things are OK .. I like the movie ...but books are much better

Awesome !

Im glad i grew up with it. Now that its finished i doubt the future generations will get anything as good. Nevertheless, i already have a list of movies, tv series , anime im going to make my children watch when they are older. XD

I think Harry Potter was alright, although he should have done something about his sisters..."situation" at a faster pace instead of derping around throughout most of the movie.*reference*

The books are awesome and way better than the movies imo. They contain so much more detail and emotions. Character development and building Ron/Hermione/Harry's friendship is done so well. You see Harry growing from a kid to a teenager with mood swings and when fame hits his head. The books place more emphasis and spend more time with side characters such as Neville, Luna, Ginny and co. These are only a few examples. For example, a detail they miss out in the movies is that Snape becomes a defense against the darks arts teacher in year 6 and you see classroom time. Other major details and scenes are also skipped.

I thought the first two movies where done pretty well and they followed the books great (missing only a few bits) but the later movies although still good, dramatize almost every scene and eventually forget about different spells. All the good guys fire white blasts and all the bad guys fire green blasts, just like guns or something. Here's an example of dramatization:

Dobby's death didn't even seem that sad to me in the movies because he only comes in the second movie and for a little bit in the seventh. Whereas in the books he comes in the 2nd, 4th, 5th and 6th, so you build a greater connection with him.

So anyway, the series in terms of the books are definitely one of my favourites. I like the movies too and even have a box set but the pale in comparison to the books imo.

They go into much more detail, not to mention all the epic stuff the movies left out, at the end of the Half Blood Prince there is a great battle in the book that was completely scrapped in the movie, all the characters and tbeir friendships are much better developed and there is a lot more easy going Hogwarts stuff that any child growing up with Hp can relate to

The biggest gripe I have with the movie is the final battle, it was completely different in the book and it was ssssoooooooooo much better in the book and many battles arent even mentioned in the movies

Many amazing side characters dont appear at all or much less often in the movies

Some little plots that any Hp fan can appreciate and are actually some of my fav in the books are completely left out, everything is shortened and sometimes characters are switched

There is loads more

The one thing that is better in the movie than in the book is Slughorn XD

How are the books better? Alot of people that have read the books tell me that its way better then the movies.

What makes the books better?
The films omit a lot of stuff and some things get changed loads.

Like the Atrium fight, in the books, Voldemort was spinning off loads of Killing Curses at Dumbledore (all attempts failed ofc), Dumbledore was animating statues, making ropes of fire and they were apparating all over - this was canon though -

Dumbly got hit by a nerf-bomb in the films; the only part which didn't nerf him is the firestorm scene in the HBP.
