Well im going to tell from the anime;
Jutsu: Flying Thunder God Technique - Minato, (soon) Naruto
Why: Superfast, Superhandy cause u can place the seal on the enemy and in an instant ur behind him, U can transmit from one kunai to the other. And it's just awsome

My favorite jutsu is the Flying Thunder God also. It along with it's variations make the 4th Hokage nearly unstoppable. I loved in the manga when he used a barrier jutsu along with the flying thunder god to beam off the 9 tails attack. His use of the kunai along with it helped him defeat Madara.

Most effective I'd say is a tie between Amaterasu and Susanno'o. We've witnessed Itachi use them both in a pinch to survive certain death. Amaterasu to burn through the Fire Toad's throat when Jiraiya nearly killed him and Kisame. Susanno'o saved Itachi against Sasuke's Kirin so Itachi was able to save Sasuke from Orochimaru's control.

anyway, my favorite jutsu is also flying thunder god. it's neat while also being very VERY deadly and along with its variations, for me it's the most efficient combat jutsu of all time. Minato used it to wipe out an entire battalion of ninjas during the war, and was even able to damage Madara with its help. he also saved the village with it, transporting that chakra blast to another location. ))

Clay and Wood release jutsu because they both bring life in their own way. Also clay and wood can be used the same way. Plus they can be used from all ranges and are not OP.

FTG: He can place a tag in any country and be there in a flash.

Its not only thee best jutsu for offence its great for defence.

And as Hokage he can use it to communicate with all 4 other villages without having to send a bird...its just awesome.

Chakra Strings/Kugutsu no Jutsu.

I like puppets... puppets are useful. I like the fighting style the puppet masters of the series use.. and Human Puppets kick arse. What's better than a Living Weapon with chakra, jutsu, and possibly a kekkei genkai? All the goodness of a ninja's abilities... without the weaknesses (most of them anyway).

Chakra strings are just a useful technique overall. Where I RP at, I suggest it to everyone who wants an extra technique for versatility. Chakra Strings can be used on pretty much anything. You can trip people with them, fire off tools and control them.. and theoretically even use it on your own body.. and on the bodies of your teammates to make them move. Very useful technique.
