As the title says what is your favorite classical music piece. Classical music can be considered as symphonies, piano sonatas, or choir songs to name a few types. I had a hard time deciding but I will always have a place for the New World Symphony by Antonín Dvořák. This is the last movement which is my favorite but all of them are good.

In second place is my favorite piano piece even if it is a bit cliché. Liberstraum No. 3 by Franz List. Link is below.

A good piece. I'm partial to spring.

That's ok. It takes time to learn the name of pieces. I'm fortunate to have a good musical background, but several instances occur when I can't place a piece I hear. Stay tuned to this thread and I'm sure your bound to learn some new pieces.

Beethoven ftw. I think his piano compositions were better than his orchestral or choir pieces. I really like his Waldstein Sonata and his Piano Concerto No. 5.

Eminem - Say What You Say. :|

I guess the definition of classical music differs between people.:what:

Beethoven's "Spring Sonata" for Piano and Violin

and
Pachelbel's Canon in D - both pieces calm me, good ways to start and end the day

Rachmaninoff's Piano Concierto No. 2 - for those bad days

Mozart's Sonata in D for two pianos - for those long bus rides

Same here... Especially liked the change from a dark and heavy feeling to relief, by the end of the piece.

another favorite, Beethoven's symphony No. 7

Good choice! I like the motifs of the first movement the best. It's really tough for me to decide if I like the classical or romantic period better. The classical period gave rise to such great composers such as Beethoven, Schubert, and Mozart. However I really like Liszt, Mahler, and Dvořák from the romantic period. Oh well, here's another favorite.
