What is your favorite anime of all time?

Mine is Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood

Why: It's one of the best stories I've ever seen, everything is so beautifully interwoven. the action is great and also very smart. The animation is just wonderful, and is always a joy to look at. The best part would probably be the character. Everyone from the Elric brothers and the hardships they've dealt with, the Armstrong siblings and their rivalry, if you can call it that, the Homunculus and their flawed ways of thinking, redeemable villains like Scar and so on

If you want to, you can specify why as well :)

You can put in which one you think is the best is as well. Yes, there's a difference.
Example:

My favorite tv show of all time is Chuck, but the best tv show I've ever seen is Game of Thrones :)

Samurai Champloo and Cowboy Bebop

Both have perfect character dynamic and anachronistic styling. Same creator so I don't think it's cheating to pick both.

Btw, FMA is a sweet choice as well though. Definitely in my top 10. Other good choices are Ghost in the Shell SAC, Gundam Wing and Seed, Rouroni Kenshin and Neon Genesis Evangelion

It´s a fight between Naruto and DB/DBZ..I say this because DB was the first anime that I watched and nostalgia may be clouding my judgment...so I don´t have a concrete answer :p

And I´ve started watching FMA:Brotherhood; 3 episodes in and loving it.

Most of use probably started with DBZ on toonami if living in the US. I'm surprised so many are still so loyal to it. It definitely will always hold that special place but in terms of plot and philosophy presented, I've just seen too many good ones since to still feel like it's one of the best. Gundam Wing was the first to expose me to the type of anime that makes you think (I was like 11-12) and since then I've loved that type much more.

Oh and before I forgot Serial Experiments Lain. It's like the Matrix as a kick ass anime (not really any action though).

DeathNote..
Why?
-Engaging story
-Makes you think
-Death
-Shinigami
-L is in it xd
-Psychological thriller
-Keeps you on the edge
-Lots of "So thats how he's gonna do it moments"
-Dark and eerie
it's the best story i have seen in any anime (very very creative) the plot and the twists are unbelievable (you can never expect what's going to happen). my favourite of all time would be DBZ (just because i grew up watching it) but when you seriously talk about the best, nothing got my attention as much as DEATH NOTE did. it's simply the best :win:

I've watched Champloo. I thought it was good, but the quality was very bad on the ones I watched, so sadly that ruined it a bit for me. I haven't watched Cowboy Bebop yet, but I am planning to :)

Haven't seen the first one. I won't either, don't want the stories to mix up xd

Nostalgia is part of your judgment. This isn't something to be objective about :)

Man, episode 4.... It may be one of the best anime episodes I've ever seen.

DBZ will always have a special place in my heart. Vegeta, Broly, Gohan, Trunks, Gotenks, just so many awesome characters and moments.
Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, were all gritty action series that starred badasses.
And that's the kind of show I love to watch.
