What is wrong with pairings?

I know I am probably going to get bombarded with rage at this question, but I have been curious about this for years now:

Why do so many people hate pairings? It is not like they even affect the story too much. Sure we got a NaruHina moment or NaruSaku moment from time to time. They were not constant occurrences however that happened chapter after chapter. Even when they did happen, they were generally either brief (except for chapter 615) or actually important to the story (ie. Hinata getting stabbed by Pain causing Naruto to go into a rage). At the end of the day however, the pairings didn't really have an effect on the fights or the plot too much. Who sealed Kaguya? Naruto and Sasuke did (Not Naruto and Hinata or Sasuke and Sakura, etc...). Who casted the infinite tsukuyomi? Madara Uchiha did (not Madara and Mito as apart of their secret affair behind Hashirama's back). Who defeated Obito? Naruto and Sasuke with a senjutsu susanoo covered Kurama. What was the main cause of the conflict in the series? The cause was Black Zetsu's manipulation of Indra and Ashura's descendants along with conflict in Hagoromo's family and lineage about how to bring peace to the world (and also a crazy lady obsessed with chakara). It had nothing to do with pairings. The list goes on and on.

The closest thing to a pairing that had a huge effect on the story was Obito's love for Rin. Even that wasn't really a pairing because Rin has been dead the whole series and she liked Kakashi anyway.

Since pairings have so little effect on the story, I don't see why they get so much hate. Hating pairings is like hating Shino. He is so irrelevant that there is absolutely no reason to hate him or bear much emotion to him at all.

Because of their irrelevance to anything related to this manga.

I like pairings, I just don't give a rats ass about Naruto pairings, because they are so badly developed.

I don't mind pairings. Mainly because i do not care who will end up with who.

The parings in Naruto suffer from both making no sense and not being believable enough( or at least not believable to anyone that knows how love/romance works) that why they are bad.

You hate manga pairings because of something that people in real life do? If an annoying person started screeching that they loved pancakes, would you hate pancakes because you didn't like that person?

How would SasuHina eliminate any hassel? Besides, I thought you hated Hinata and idolized Sasuke. If that is the case then why would you want someone you hate with your idol?

I agree. Pairings don't really have much of an impact to the plot. At the end of the day it's all fan-service, really. The constant crying and *****ing you see around here are those who are obssessed with pairings. People take it way too seriously. Naruto isn't a romance-type series after all (with the exception of The Last movie of course), so there's nothing wrong with revealing pairings that appeared to have little or no development at all since the story isn't focused on romance. What is wrong is bad development though, and a prime example of that is SasuSaku since there were times when this pairing had contradictions (how Sasuke abused and tried to kill Sakura on multiple occasions).

Because for 699 chapters pairings were irrelevant.

Because most of the pairings came out of nowhere and had zero development

Because it's shonen manga not bloody shoujo

I just believe it became a bigger deal since the pairing issue over NaruHina vs NaruSaku never got answer throughout the manga's 15 year history till the very end.

It simply grew like a parasite, almost on par with Naruto vs Sasuke. Some argue even more so.

I like pairings, pairings give a different type of depth to the characters. If develop correctly of course, Kishi did none of this, which makes not care for them not even NaruHina who I like.

They had some development. Besides, every second of every chapter can not be fighting. Some fans also like to see a diversity of elements in a book.
