What does the Vatican do anymore...? I understand that it's a city, but what is the point of it in this modern day and age. The Pope just seems like public figurehead that decides what is wrong and right for religious people. Can someone enlighten me on this.

Well, to the religious it's a big deal because, like you said, it's where the pope resides. The pope has Papal Infallibility so his teachings and comments on Church doctrine and beliefs are important.

Pope Francis is pretty cool imo so there has been renewed interest in the Vatican lately.

The pope aint some Middle Eastern hate beard so he won't do it. Christianity is not radical enough to follow trough. They were 600 years ago. But not anymore
