[Discussion] What is the one piece?

Im very curious as to what it is exactly. when i first started reading the manga, i assumed Gol D. Roger's treasure actual gold and gems, etc. you know, like typical pirate treasure. But I've read for this long, and am keeping up with the weekly chapters, and im not so sure its just gold anymore. Actually, since the alabasta arc Ive been wondering if maybe it has something to do with the void century. from the way rayleigh and crocus were when they mentioned roger, and also luffy, Id say the one piece is something very important that must be entrusted to someone who wont use it the wrong way. Which makes me think it is the key ponegliff that robin mentioned in Alabasta when talking to Vivi's father, or it is a massive weapon like the Pluton battleship which caused so much trouble in the Water 7 arc.
Youre thoughts as to what the one piece treasure truly is?

I like the theory that the One Piece is the result of destroying Marijois and opening the grandline to the seas, in the process creating the All Blue and opening travel to all the seas.
