Hello NB,

What is that makes you believe/ empathize the most with your favorite NV character ?

I, from day one empathized with Naruto and I can say that he's still my most favorite character because of what he actually represents.

What makes me believe in Naruto Uzumaki are his: devotion once he wants something, the fact that he's a protector not a king nor' a killer, and his will to always walk out of situation by speaking only the truth.

I understand your point of view, yet I would've enjoyed to read something more detailed from you.

When I was younger I experienced a similar kind of identity crisis, which is why I find Kabuto's tragic backstory so engaging.

Well, um...

I've always been emotionally distant (naturally), and I guess that's why I was subconsciously drawn to characters who suppressed their emotions to the point of being machine-like. It just fascinates me, I've always liked fiction that concerned relations between humanity and machines (usually it was sci-fi, of course), emotions/feelings vs logic, etc. In my own case, rationality almost always prevails. I also like fiction that deals with human mind, especially with what can be done to mess it up, i. e. brainwashing, or simply horror that leads to insanity. For those reasons, I was interested in Root since Danzo indeed brainwashed his subordinates into losing their humanity.

So, I'm not sure if I can call it empathy, but Fuu is an interesting "subject" for me. I like thinking about his past, how he grew up in Root being brainwashed and all that (but at the same time retaining a bit of his humanity as well, since he wasn't as clueless as Sai).

That'd be Kakashi...

Whatever hell you go through, never lose composure and calm. Might be a stern person from outside but warmer inside.

I've always related to Nagato. Growing up I was the bigger, stronger kid around (much like how Nagato was with his rinnegan, strong chakra, etc), but I never used those advantages for selfish gain because I was far too kindhearted. Much like how he was, I cared deeply about people and would always do the right thing for them even if it hurt me.

As I got older people began to pick on me and took advantage of my kindness to the point where I gave up and my outlook on people seriously degraded. After a few years of figuring out how to deal with some of those issues I then came to the realization that there was a lot of darkness in people - greed, bullying, corruption, etc.

I'm of course far less naive and more mature with how I interact and treat people today, but that understanding of darkness helped focus my mind on the larger picture of human corruption over the years: governments, lobbyists, large corporations, banks, etc. Now I just want to see that system fall.

In short - I'm a kind soul trapped in a world of depravity, and like Nagato, my outlook on humanity has gone through some dark turns. Also like him, I was fortunately able to partially restore my old self, if only a little.
