The clash is not about "burning" the other's fire. It would mostly be about the force of the fire until it reaches it target. Then the burning would start.

Chakra that becomes solid. Plus think about it, Mei's Solid Mist uses chakra so it isn't that hard to imagine chakra melting chakra

that is exactly what it is, susanoo is made of chakra and mei's mist is also made of chakra so its that hard to imagine the mist melting the susanoo
