-Her dream of Hokage doesn't align with the plot of Boruto's fate and the end of a era.
-She has no ties to Kara or the Aliens in the same fashion as Boruto/Kawaki/Naruto/Sasuke

How does that pertain to the plot? Outside of her being potentially killed (Your eyes will take everything you care for away). I don't see how that impacts anything.

To be hokage isn't a role, it's a purpose. That only gives Sarada purpose, but her impact in the story is kinda vague.

So home girl is on the right path... but to answer the question OP, Sarada like mitsuki roles will be helping to protect what Kawaki will later want to destroy (the shinobi world or whatever else Boruto stands up against). If you haven’t noticed their always there to keep him grounded and never leave his side. That’s her role..
