[Discussion] What is "race?"

It's a social construct, just like nationality and religion. Modern biology does not support it and everyone in our species of anatomically modern humans are so closely related that the concept of race is deplorable at best.
Once most of the world accepts this, we will be on our way to accepting physical differences of others.

Yep. That's the same way I see it, it's just a social construct, something that was defined by others. But at the end of the day, each of us (most of us anyway) are just a human being. We're all part of the same species so race never mattered to me.

It may just be a social construct but in medicine it is sometimes considered as certain racial/ethnic groups are known to be more prone to certain diseases and more sensitive to certain medications than others.

Though whether or not this may be more due to socioeconomic status, culture, or the environment that they are exposed to rather than the actual race itself is debatable.

I agree with the gist of this but you didn't clarify. Race is not accepted by most biological institutions of science because "race" is not real. Genetic variation dictates that variation is equally distributed in non-african continents regardless of your sociology ascribed "race"

This has nothing to do with "race". It has to do with outside factors such as geographic location and disease distribution. The most common example of this is sickle cell anemia.
