what is needed to become sensei?

since i am a noob and started searching for a teacher i wondered...
why are there so little senseis??
so i am asking to the veterans or the teachers themselves what are the qualifications to become a teacher?
is it rewarding? to much of a hassle? any thoughts on the whole sensei thing will help me.
