What is Itachi's Counter to Kamui?

Going by what we've seen in the manga, Itachi has the speed/reflexes to possibly counter being wrapped.

Obito's speed is greater than Itachi's, at least when he's warping.
Entered Jinton, grabbed Sasuke, exited Jinton, all before it exploded.

Not really. During Obito's altercation with Gai, he was able to prevent Obito from wrapping him due to his hand speed/reflexes. It really only takes, 1) Intel, 2) OP reaction speed and 3) the ability to accurately counter...consistently.

Itachi has shown precise react speed, even if you consider his altercation w/ Kabuto. Having no prior knowledge had the speed/reflexes fast enough to cover Sasuke w/ susnaoo.

I do agree, that was his fastest wrapping feat. However, we didn't know his prior location and this doesn't change the fact that he has to materialize before wrapping his opponent.

As Obito states, "the sharingan can read moves" regardless of ones speed, it really all depends on the users speed/ability to physically react.


Gai demonstrated something Itachi could very well do here

Perhaps he could keep up a frontal assault against Obito. However, that doesn't mean he can still harm Obito. Besides, with Kamui, sneak attacks are easy, wouldn't you say?

Technically Kamui would only serve to help Itachi seal him with Totsuka...
By definition, piercing is the action is going through someone or something, with Kamui, Totsuka will go through Obito, therefore dealing him and turning his own attack against him

Actually it is still there, just existing in another dimension at the same time, but technically it still pierced.
If it wasn't there all together, then the body parts wouldn't be seen

But the flesh and actual body, is in another dimension. It's like a mass of steam. You can see it, but you go right through it.

It's a fact Sharingan can't distinguish shadow clones. Itachi's failed to recognize Kakashi's. When Kakashi distinguished Itachi's clone in part 1 obviously it wasn't due to the Sharingan, Kakashi used his intelligence to predict it was a shadow clone.

Obito needs to be tangible in order to grab Itachi. When he touches Itachi, he splits into dozens of clones, blitzes Obito from behind like Minato with Totsuka and seals him forever.

The moment itachi goes into Susanoo, Obito will remain intangible for 5 min until itachi dies.

That was only in the anime. You can look it up. In the anime Sasuke said "thanks to the Sharingan I knew who the real you was all along." And this statement contradicted the manga. You can look it up....
