but why is it again, the child has to be orphan XD

Like Naruto's - Sasuke, Iruka, Kakashi, Nagato, who else??? :3

It is used as a method to have readers sympathize with the Protagonists, and later further develope that quality by linking it to the characters other characteristics, so that the reader would consistently and constantly relate the actions/mindset of the Protagonists.

Or at least, that's how I understand it.
