I'm pretty sure it's on the brink of a civil war. It wouldn't be a good idea to visit.

.....aren't they rebelling about their government or something of the sorts at the moment? If so, you should avoid going on a vacation there :|

They decided its time to go back to the old ways and started mummifying the dead but since they are low on resourcses they use toilet paper and alot of people are mad about that so they protest...

If I were you, I wouldn't go to any country in the Middle East or Africa any time soon.

Wait for all the violence to die down.

It's pretty unstable in the Middle-East right now, so it's best to avoid going there at all until things are quieter.

I'd like to see some Egyptian ruins as well, but the risk of traveling there is too much at the moment. :(
You never know if you'll find yourself involved in a clash, or stuck there indefinitely if an airport is seized.

I'd stay away from that territory for now, at least until all that stuff dies down.
Middle East is really a mess right now, and Egypt is starting to become it's own mess aswell.

So 52 countries are unsafe.

The defence minister did not take over; it was the will of the people that overthrew the-- now, previous --regime, with the help of the armed forces. Don't listen to the media.

OT: Like what other users have said, right now, it's best to avoid going anywhere in the Middle-East.

Ok here I will explain what happened:
Majority of People wanted the president to quit but some didn't but that's not important right now but like I said majority wanted him to quit, I don't know the exact number but I think it was near around 500,000 protested....so the military stepped in and gave a 48 hour ultimatum for the president to meet the people's demand...basically like a last chance to quit....BUT he didn't so the military went in overthrew the president basically a coup d'état...like I said earlier the president did have some followers so they started to riot and this is when things got ugly where 120 were believed to be killed with 1000 injured not saying that earlier protects didn't have casualties.....in the earlier protest only 7 reportedly died with 600 wounded....

i would have never said it better , BUT the people who wanted him to leave not 500,000 they are 30 million citizen

the 500,000 created a campaign called (revolt) and they started to collect permissions from the people who want the president to quit and then they collected more than 30 million permission signed by people who want the president to quit but the president didn't quit because he claimed his followers are more than the people in the campaign ( revolt ) and now his followers are trying to prove that they are more and that the army is hunting them down and that's not true

Hmm...

So... because it was the will of the people to overthrow this guy - such a vast number of them -really- wanted him out of office.... they are now celebrating their mutual accomplishment by killing each other?

Egypt has been one giant cluster fudge.

OT: Like what other users have said, right now, it's best to avoid going anywhere in the Middle-East.

There are a few places that are okay to visit - Dubai is an alright city-state-like place. No one messes with them too much, and they are quite stable.

But places like Egypt have always been kind of hazardous environments to tour.

you can't visit the pyramids in Dubai and Dubai is too boring ( just a punch of malls and restaurants you can visit in any country )
