I think he is one of the people who always have a problem. If one is solved, they make a new one. His first revenge being done, he was lonely and searched for something new to do. He is just some restless kids with issues. A good beating helps alot there.

All incident that happens to sasuke considerd as "drastic" by the measure of self depression and a move to avenge. If not, he wouldnt want to take such move that not only implied to his future life but to the rest of the people around him.
