[Discussion] What is a spin-off?

Okay, i understand the manga is over and rumours have reached universally that there will be a spin off series of naruto. A third series.

My question is , what exactly is a spin-off ? Is it that strange thing where characters heads are bigger than their bodies? If so, i aint reading it U_U Not that im interested in a 3rd series of naruto anyways XD​

Pretty sure lol. It should be the same animations as normal Naruto episodes.

The big head one I think you're referring to is Lee's Spring Time of Youth and that's suppose to be chibi characters. (like a parody)

Actually it kind of does
Its basically the story of the new kids of Konoha and i am pretty sure Kishimoto will include all the old characters as well.
Basically they are thinking if this new story will be popular they will make into into a main new series and create an anime after
and if it fails then it will end soon or just continue as a Manga

People have already answered this but i we give am example like wolverine movies are a spinoff of the main x men series, or ff lightning returns is a spin off of ff 13

No they are not chibi in the upcoming part 3 (big head and small bodies)

The mini series part 3 in spring is by kishimoto the original author of naruto.
Unlike the chibi series which is by a different author.


We will get a short Naruto manga focused on naruto kids/sasuke and sakura kid/the rest of the kids etc.. In spring,

I think you're referencing the whole rock lee spin off? That's not how ever spin off works.
Boy meets world has a spin off with the new series that came out I believe they're calling it "girl meets world". Non animated, Im sure they didn't stuff helium down their throats to inflate their heads..

Spin off is just an extention or deviation of a main story
