What is a Shinobi?

What is a Shinobi? Danzo, in my personal opinion, he is the literal personification of a TRUE Shinobi, no matter what these fillers make you think Danzo's story goes deeper than anyone else in the verse. He may seem selfish and corrupted, but in the end his intentions are to protect the Leaf, is that now what Itachi tried to do?
In your opinion, what is a real Shionogi, and who embodies that?

Well, of course, I think Tobirama is a good model for a shinobi. He did what needs to be done, cares about his village than himself, made sacrifices, and is very intelligent. Danzo and Itachi are good ninja as well. Kisame is a good mention.

Itachi and danzo are true shinobis imo. To be a shinobi is not just to endure but act like a real ninja. Itachi is stealthy like a true ninja. Master with kunais and shuriken and hands seals like a real ninja. His quotes are great. Their in the shadows. his speed is ninja like. Great with swords. Thats why itachi is his best written character imo.

This is what I'm looking for, Tobirama's exceptional because he had the villages interest at heart, but in my opinion Danzo takes the cake. Even though one can view him as a scumbag on the surface, if you look deeper, did he not do what needed to be done with the Leaf?

itachi/kisame hands down and they have been mentioned by others to be true shinobi's such as hashirama's comment about itachi and gai's comment about kisame, no other character has been called a great shinobi...

Danzo was such an arrogant,power hungry,self-consumed,twisted bastard that if Itachi's truth comes out,Sasuke will be hailed as a hero for killing him. That guy as hinted in kage summit was also behind helping orochimaru in attacking a village. And if obito and danzo knew each other,as hinted again,then that only means danzo was the one that leaked kushina's delivery date to him in order to gain power. Not to mention,he also was the one who killed messenger frog,in pain invasion,just so to put blame on tsunade later,for power.
