Hey guys I'm a bit confused about what is considered prime for a ninja.

Like I know that Naruto and Sasuke are crazy powerful but they are no where near their prime because they have years of growth and experience to go through

Some people say prime is like 25-30 or like 30-40 so which is it ?

Also was kakashi and gai in thier prime yet

To be in their prime means to be at the peak of both their physical and mental capabilities. If the person lives to a full life span, then typically their prime would be around their 20's or 30's. However the age is never set in stone as conditions can change from person to person. Minato for example was at his prime either as a Jonin or as Hokage, but since he died young he died in his prime. Hiruzen on the other hand died old, thus his prime would have been around his 20's or 30's. Naruto and Sasuke are still growing; if they were to die in this war then they would have died in their prime, but if they were to continue growing they would in theory reach their prime in about 10 years time. Nagato became handicapped at a VERY young age, and it can be debated that he was in his prime before he became handicapped. Kakashi is another person that can be debated, especially now that he lost his sharingan eye.

I disagree.

One's prime is when you hit the right balance between physical and mental procurement. Jiraiya for example arguably hit his prime in later-life because of the imbalance between physical and mental ability during his youth.

Not about life span its about physical and health conditions imo. For example prime Itachi must be the one that slayed the Uchiha.

I would say Kakashi/Gai's generation are in their prime. Hitting the top of the down slope.

Pretty much this. It can also vary because Madara was in his prime when he fought Hashirama, but when he came back he got wood release, Rinnegan so that was his new prime.

Thats more or less what I said. My point being that age isn't a real factor in determining one's prime. Its about their physical/mental maturity, and also the conditions placed on them. Again using Nagato as an example, both his physical and mental abilities weren't at their peak before he was handicapped, however because he became handicapped his physical abilities peaked at a young age. While his mental peak wouldn't happen until further down the line (with the six paths of pain), being physically handicapped prevents him from being at his "prime" at anything beyond his youth as thats when he was able to utilize the most of his abilities.

"Prime" is when a ninja is at their overall best.

This can mean different things for different ninjas, so primes can be different ages.
