that villain that died by zabuza's hands
A generic villian just follows the generic vilian archtype.
Arrogant
Overpowered
His arrogance is his weakness
Most of the time evil for the luz/or hypocrite that means well.
Aka Madara
Oro is the best to 2nd best villian in the series btw.
It's weak and recycled. Madara's change was SO sudden.
It was a stitched on reason as an excuse for a power-hungry arrogant villain. He's a walking contradiction. A pacifist 'hero' that wants to save the world but also a power-hungry fetishtic nut who loves to fight? ummmmmmmmmm.
Madara is a walking contradiction,he claims to want peace yet his blood boils when crushing skulls?Sorry but that sounds like a warhawk who got deluded into thinking he can make the world the way it should be in his opinion.
Hell we never saw Madara's connection to the Tsuki no Me, we never saw why THIS would be his logical solution or would be his perfect way out of reality. If anything Madara is a king, he seems like someone strongly grounded in reality. He had this Tsuki no Me plan half-heartedly assigned to him because that was the Akatsuki's and obito's goal.
He never claimed to be pacifist. He just wanted peace. Goku likes to fight too, but he likes peace. Madara is just similar to Goku in that way.
Also, it is hypocritical to call Madara and other villains with ideology recycled when there have been 1000 times more villains in literature like Orochimaru and Frieza who just want to either destroy or rule a place for no reason. "Pure evil" is more weak and recycled than the Madara type villains are.
Watching Oro do his thing whether he's succeeding or not is way more entertaining than that hypocritical Aizen clone 1shotting everything in sight.
"Hashirama's country was a shameful contradiction… Man seeks peace, yet at the same time yearning for war… Those are the two realms belonging solely to man. Thinking of peace whilst spilling blood is something only humans can do. They're two sides of the same coin. To protect something… another must be sacrificed. That is, other than that of, say a dream world."
Madara completely understands this and generalizes this idea, referring to it as a human trait.
His goal, the dream world, is from his perspective the only way to end this.
"This world is full of things that don't go as you wish. The longer you live the more you realise reality is just made of pain, suffering, and emptiness... Listen… In this world, whenever there is light, there are also shadows. As long as the concept of winners exist, there must also be losers. The selfish desire of wanting to maintain peace causes wars and hatred is born to protect love."
"I just stopped the fate of this world. I freed people from pain, suffering, emptiness. […] Naruto… You're getting in the way of everyone's happiness. Our game ends here. I turned hell into heaven. You should understand… It's already over."
Nope. Those are the two most common tropes. Hence why they're mentioned in the paragraph explaining the trope and not the list encompassing it.
Oro wants to know everything. Acquire all the knowledge in the world. Destroying the leaf was only a whim.
Knowledge is simply a form of power. In fact, many times knowledge is better than physical strength. Therefore, Oro still falls into the I just want power category. Also, he even does a crappy job at that. Most generic villains that just want to destroy do it on whims also.
What are you? Malcolm x? Lol. Anything can be a form a power by logic like that. But oro doesn't seek knowledge for power. He seeks knowledge for knowledge.
