I would +rep you for this if I could. You are spot on here. This right and wrong concept is entirely societal. It all comes down to consequences. There are deeds we deem bad that can have positive consequences. And good deeds that can lead to bad consequences. Right and wrong come to a matter of perspective.
In the case of video games, they having ratings for a reason. Parents would rather let their child sit in front of the tv, consol, PC, smartphone, etc for a moment of quiet but tend to overlook the fact that they just bought their child a game intended for adults, or they don't realize their 8 year old is watching Walking Dead. Instead of introspection and parental correction, they caste the blame to an external source...
Besides.....
It can't be the parent's fault right? They are infallible when it comes to these sorts of things XD
Exactly. Young kids are usually impressionable and they copy the actions they see. However, if they're parents are present to show them what's right and wrong, not a problem at all, even if they play GTA, skyrim, assasin's creed or whatever.
It's easier to blam external sources as you said, but acknowledging one's mistake, that's somthing you don't usually see.
As for wrong and right, I partially disagree. I don't think it's a matter of perspective at all, but as you said, it's related to the consequences.
Bad/evil is any action that harms society or life in society. That's because we, humans, gathered and created this "connected" style of life. What we do do not affect us only, it affects other people as well. So, if you do something that harms other citizens in any way, your action was bad/evil. So, if the consequences of their actions are negative for other people, his action is bad.
The best way to see if the consequences are of something are bad or good is: imagine if everybody else did the same. We're all citizens, we get the same rights. If one can do, we all can.
