What in the world is BZ exactly?

Is anyone else confused about what exactly BZ is?

Calling him a Zetzu is really a misnomer, because apparently he was just attached to a Zetzu and can attach to pretty much anything. He is Madara's will? But what does that mean? What type of jutsu created BZ and is it linked to why Madara died? Was there any reason that Madara only created BZ once he found his puppet (Obito) to continue his plans until he was revived? That might explain why he died right then instead of staying alive a bit longer in order to watch over Obito and give him advice. Perhaps creating BZ killed him but allowed him to continue guiding Obito because his will was able to survive his death so it was more or less like he was alive all this time guiding Obito....

But here's what I'm getting at. BZ makes no sense. How can Madara create this amorphous will-creature known as BZ? Why didn't the fricking So6P do this on his death bed in order to guide the future generations? I mean he didn't have a Zetzu to attached his will to, but apparently he could've attached it to anyone.... and BZ can survive without being attached to anything anyway because it survived a long time after its zetzu body was destroyed by that Mist ninja.

Basically dude, you've explained Black Zetsu the best anyone can in this thread... He is as you said, literally Madara's will... He's this amorphous-sticky "Venom" being that's pretty much Madara, just without it being really Madara.... Like a second, weaker, but more pure version of Madara.... His ESSENCE.

Well I mean I always kind of assumed that BZ was bound to that half of the zetzu body... I mean why throughout the manga did Zetzu even bother splitting when BZ could've trolled around the NV without a body.... And also I think you just aren't thinking the whole "it's his will" thing through far enough. That is really, really weird to detach someone's will from their body. It borderline doesn't make sense. I need more explanation from Kishi about how Madara knew this was possible. Where did he learn how to do this?

He is just will...

He forces out the will of whatever object or body he can attach to at the moment.

Example: the white zetsu half of the body, he can force out little mokuton through parts of his body.

While the white on can only extend from its Venus flytrap as a means mokuton.

Since the body is disposed of by chojiro, black zetsu slipped through and attached his body through some dirt underground.
Then he melted with Obito, since they have the same symbiote.

BZ is a weak version of Madara

Reason why Madara didnt stay alive is because he was attached to the gedo mazao and they needed to move and summon it, thus killing him. He used the yin/yang release similar to what the So6P did when he created the tailed beast. you have to assume that the tailed sorta have some of the So6P will, it they didnt then there wkuld be no reasoning with them what so ever. the would only have 1 thing in mind and thats kill and become whole again, they wouldnt make friends like they do.
