That isnt true. Madara can die from physical attacks he even said so. It was just that Gai was severely weakened from fighting the war(Prior to the Madara fight he couldn't even walk on his own).

If Gai was at full power Madara would have died.

I... disagree. Madara didn't even counter attack. Minato and Kakashi were there to support aswell. Gai wouldn't even touch Madara if plot didn't restrict it. Kishi just wanted to show how powerful the 8th gate would be.

According to the manga Madara couldnt counter attack because Gai was too fast. Madara could not keep track with him and had to focus on defending himself. And even with focusing on defense he still almost died.

Nope, his reaction time would be too fast for FTG to work. Madara's senses turned FTG into fodder yet couldn't keep up with Gai so Minato fails

Where does it say that Gai needed their help? They volunteered themselves to help because they wanted to feel useful.

And on top of that Gai was in no real danger, he could break Goudoudamas, so TSB wasnt even a threat.

Well if Lee knocked him away before absorbing the Shinju OR joined in at 6 gates it might have worked.
