Naruto never met Minato, but instead he talked to Kurama while the seal was breaking and convinced him that he could save the world and the Bijuu, so Kurama instead decides to lend him chakra to use Bijuu mode version 1. Naruto didn't need to meet his parents, he could have just met Minato after he was revived by edo tensei and Minato could have told him about Kushina and her sacrifice. The whole taming the jinchuriki arc was stupid and unnecessary, talking spirits should have been restricted to edo tensei because it just took away from the subtle realism that Naruto used to have, and Kurama's tnj was sloppy, it would have been more reasonable if it happened during an essential turning point like the Pain arc.
Naruto gets bijuu mode version 1 because Kurama agrees to fight alongside him instead of just ****ing everything, Naruto defeats deva path using his new power and speed plus mass shadow clones. After that Kurama recalls his chakra leaving Naruto weakened for his final confrontation with Pain, but he later agrees to share it with Naruto again during the war arc. Then during the edo jinchuriki fight Kurama decides to stop pretending to be bitter and fully work alongside Naruto, allowing him to activate the full bijuu mode.
It's just the Pain arc was the true conclusion of the Kurama being a scary angry demon thing, so it would have been more fitting for him to get tnj'ed during that desperate moment, instead of it being left until later during a more less climactic and tense point in the story.
he could have been like, "I need your help Kurama, I'm trying to change the world like pervy sage wanted, and I can't do it alone. Pain wants to use you, and I don't think that's right, help me and one day I promise I'll help you."
Kurama would be like "psh, damn brat has a way with words, you've come far boy, use my chakra this one time and kick his ass, don't think this changes anything though."
In the heat of the moment, it would make sense for a character like Kurama to be more open to change, later on when things calmed down, you'd think he'd be acting more stubborn, especially after Naruto forcefully stole his chakra and turned him emaciated.
