Databook is canon. Tsnunade's stamina was lower than Jiraiya's according to the databook.

Well since Tsunade has nothin to worry except to heal her friend. She can dogde attack as she trained Sakura to do so. Her summon is pretty strong against pain summon and can sure block pain vision and create tactic. She can heal and destroy ground and Pain dont have answer for the ground breaking except jumping away (cant absorb ground breaking).
As manga fact Jiraiya got ambushed and fought pain without any kind of intel while pain know something about his teacher except the genjutsu part. Kishi's words also point out that Jiraiya would have won if he knows pain secret. He can also let Tsunade fight and he does the ambush...

Fighting with so many pains (the main one is far away to control + vision and just stay calm for better tactic) Jiraiya still manage to fool pain many time and even have time to escape to another dimension. He can also fight pain and once he is badly injured and out of battery, he can enter his dimension and let Tsunade recharge him.

There are so many possibilities for both of them to work together.
CT is useless as Jiraiya can enter both of them into another dimension or just simple summon reserve or even consume the core into another dimension-toad stomach like he did with dogs.
Human path is useless since they are not stupid to standing still, almost impossible to capture both Sannin.
Tsunade doesnt use ninjutsu, she just destroy the ground for any sharing vision tactic.

I think one of them would of made it out alive but either eat someone would still die and pain would in no circumstance be defeated

She would have gone byakugou mode, and Jiraya wouldn't have to worry about her, katsuya would definitely be useful gaainst the dog summon and still provide her personal support. I'd say that two sannin being there when pein said he would have lost to jiraya if he knew his secret. It would have been gg. or at least they would have escaped with intel, both alive.

katsuya could also help her and jiraya communicate if they were not together at different points. and provide any intel tsunade may have gathered just like naruto vs pain.

Edit: I listened to his video and i see solid points. Even though i think the databooks at the time of the fight were old. maybe Tsunade would have been nearing her limit by around the time Jiraya did sage mode.

TBH though lets not forget she could have been put in a safe house or sorts (being jirayas frog) and he would go ahead with sage mode and stuff or something else. I feel like if Tsunade went with him realistically by the way kishi writes he would have somehow made jiraya sacrifice himself just as he did to save tsunade and instead of sending intel with pa it would have been with her.

Losing a hokage and jiraya would have been too much for this series. Plus Kishi has Tsunade as a blank slate at that point he could have had her whip out anything, if he had cared about shikkotsu's senjutsu he could have had her do that too but we'll never know. Shame she never got to fight pein for a bit because of editors.
