Why did Itachi do tsukuyomi on Lord Sasuke (and Kakashi) if Tsunade wasn't in the village to heal them.What if she never came back?Itachi would most likely cry himself to sleep every night knowing that his little bro is brain dead because of him.
It wouldn't be plausible that Sasuke wouldn't wake up. That would mean he was weaker mentally as a 13 yr old than he was as an 8 yr old, since he woke up the next day after he used Tsukiyomi as a kid to direct his hatred towards him. Sasuke as a 13 yr old would have woke up in a week, Tsunade just made him wake up earlier.
He used Tsukiyomi on Kakashi to incapacitate him. That's a better option than just killing him right away. Do you want Kakashi to die? :c
Yes, he used Tsukiyomi on Sasuke because Sasuke wasn't progressing as fast as he should have been and he wanted to make sure he'd be as strong as possible to defend himself against possible threats in the future. This worked. Due to those experiences, Sasuke isn't dead now. I'd say it's worth it.
Also, Tsunade's excuse for returning to Konoha was to go heal Sasuke by Naruto's request. Itachi knew that Hiruzen had just died, how do you know that he didn't know that Tsunade would come back and heal his brother if someone like Jiraiya is in Konoha and he as her comrade reveres her as a medic ninja? And Itachi knows that Jiraiya is affiliated with Tsunade and she's the best medic ninja at the time? I doubt he knew this (since Itachi's not the author xD ), he just did that Tsukiyomi to benefit Sasuke in the long-run and knew that he'd wake up anyway. But it's just funny how Itachi basically indirectly ensured that the village would have a decent Hokage and not someone like Danzo at the time.
