I already made a thread about this a LONG time ago. Basically the long haired Tobi is the real Madara and the short haired one is tObit(o) was my theory.

Tobi being Obito... I see no reason for him being Obito plot-wise but certain characteristics like the spiky hair and the space-time jutsu do point to him. :ice:

That's part of the reason why he can't be. Obito is Kakashi's age. By the time Akatsuki was formed he would be just a kid.
On the other hand tobi was the one who influenced Yahiko to form Akatsuki.

So they can't be one and the same.

Tobi was still acting as Madara at that point so it's likely Madara was the one who influenced Yahiko to create Akatsuki. Just my theory though.
