And then when he was about to take Doflamingo, he was attacked by the remaining 2 Battleship's and was forced to retreat because he was too weak due to the wounds which he got from Fuji/Sengoku. And then fell into the ocean and was "presumed dead" but was saved by plot because one can't just offpanel an island conquerer and an animal tamer.

I fail to understand how Jack got more hype. He sunk 2 ships, okay, Ace sunk around 5 in Alabasta with a single hit. Fujitora and Sengoku (and Otsuru) negged him from the information we were given this chapter. Jack's hype just went down.

If Jack is implied to be a henchman of Doflamingo then of course he wouldn't stand a chance against admirals regardless of how much hype he gets, even Marco would get beaten in a situation like that, doesn't make him weak. Oda wouldn't introduce an admiral level character out of nowhere that isn't atleast first mate of a Yonko.

Let me point out that I had no expectations at all about Jack, not interest in the character in the least. His hype did in fact, go down. Because last week (or the past one) people were saying Garp or Fujitora were going to die. You can see how that train of thought just crashed, Jack lost and is presumed either dead or escaped with his life on the line. From a country destroyer to a running loser, doesn't take much to see his hype decrease.

You did have expecations, you shouldn't have listened to insane people who thought any top tier was going to lose to a nobody. Keep in mind Blackbeard have also destroyed countries when he first left the WB pirates yet he wasn't anywhere near admiral level at the time. Even Big Mam's henchman destroyed a country yet that doesn't mean they're admiral level or could make a top tier sweat at all.

No it's not clear that he got rekt because all we know is that he was beaten, but not the difficulty at which he was beaten.
