Like someone stated above. It wouldn't have changed much. Akainu is still a formidable foe which could take big hits from Whitebeard himself and still be able live.

He would've killed them both lol, its good luffy went into a mental state otherwise if he fought . No doubt he would've died

Luffy could have done a lot more in the war but Ace only got killed because he tried to fight Akainu. Akainu isn't too much weaker than Whitebeard. If current Luffy tried to fight Akainu he would look like Akainu did when he got his butt whopped by Whitebeard.
