I was thinking about this for a while and it seems that Kishimoto has been using different religious aspects in his manga. You can see a direct correlation between Naruto and Christianity. The Sun on Narutos hand is a symbol that you would normally see in different Christian idols.

The Symbol on Sasuke's hand however seems to be directly linked to Islam. The crescent on Sasuke's hand is commonly used within Islam.

Since Sasuke is an Uchiha does that mean that all Uchiha's would be Muslim? It seems that Kishimoto may have made that suggestion with the symbol he picked for Sasuke's hand.

I would not like that. One bad move and he could anger a lot of people. Although Uchiha and Muslims, huh? I like the sound of that.

It makes no sense at all though
Islam is the religion of peace
The Uchiha on the other hand...

But they are pretty bad a$$, right? Also, there is a lot of discrimination in the world against Muslims and Uchiha in the manga.

Muslims use the moon and it's phase times to track their second date.
It has no relation. I can confirm that.

I should probably say this thread has a high chance of being deleted, since no doubt, it will turn into a religious fight. The worst kind of word fights to ever exist.

In Hindu mythology, Surya represents the Sun god. Surya is depicted as a red man with three eyes and four arms, riding in a chariot drawn by seven mares. Surya holds water lilies with two of his hands. With his third hand he encourages his worshipers whom he blesses with his fourth hand. In India, Surya is believed to be a benevolent deity capable of healing sick people. Even today, people place the symbol of the Sun over shops because they think it would bring good fortune.

Healing people like Naruto right?

The Moon was thought to be the storehouse of the elixir. When the gods drink soma, it is said that the Moon wanes because the gods are drinking away some of its properties. Some people think that the Moon is inhabited by a hare. That is why all hares are viewed as incarnations of Soma.
