Creak and crack weary bones
The world is small and growing closer
Beyond the pool of light is darkness, an abyss of burned feathers
My Head is heavy and I can barely breath
The blanket is cold an icy sheet that shrouds me
There is warmth, distant over a frigid expanse
It does not know me
My blood has dried but fear pulses through my veins, blue and stinging
My feet are gone and my skin is dried
I wish to stay, even in this cold abyss
I wish to stay and cling to this pool of light
I cannot move, for what if the ice cracks?
I would drift away
Peace...
But a peace that may not exist
I wish not to find out but to stay in my pool of light
Where fear replaces blood and relief and exhaustion replaces comfort
It knows me
I cannot move, I am stone
I do not wish to sit until I sink
But I cannot move, for what if the ice cracks?

But I do not wish to explore
It knows me
It keeps me
