Don't know, Kishi gots a thing for spirals. There may be a reason behind the appearance of the doujutsu. To get Rinnegan, you need both Uchiha and Senju traits. Rikudou Sennin seems to have separate both of his sons' traits. So, he may actually have that eye.

MS are different for each Uchia, it would probably work for the Rinnegan, also it applies on the eye shape.

Rinnegan is already matured. It's the most powerful Dojutsu.

I'm pretty sure Rikudo's sons were naturally born not created. The older son's eyes were pretty much rinnegan just a mutation. Just like Rinnegan mutated/devolved into the sharingan down the generations. It makes sense that the mother resulted in her children have a "diluted" bloodline. You know real life instance where one child takes after more of one parent. Well since Rikudo was two bloodlines in one, one kid got more of one side of their father, and the other the other half. Jus my thoughts. I also noticed they have hyuga like hair with the locks on both sides. Modern hyuga hair is the same way. Maybe coincidence buut who knows. The sons clearly look like brothers too, Around the chin and mouth area

well... I couldn't connect a solid theory to it, but the Elder son's eye's look a lot like the Uzamaki emblem... I couldn't find a connection for the body(which is Uzamaki, right?) and why the hell the Dojustsu son would have that patern, hmmm...

if the elder son would have inherited everything; eyes, spiritual energy,body,and physical energy it would have been rinnegan
