Would you guys be interested in a what if story where Shanks lets Luffy into his crew when Luffy was young? Or would it be too boring?? All the Straw Hats would join whichever captain from the worst generation matches their style....Would be interesting to see him come up against Ace

Garp for sure will hunt Shanks down and try to take Luffy back. And maybe even Aokiji might help Garp. Maybe even Sengoku?

That would be interesting but Luffy would learn Haki a lot earlier and possibly awaken as well. Luffy won't be able to be put into a situation where he needs to get stronger faster than necessary so he won't have his Gear 2,3, and 4.
He'll start off using his basic stretching powers and Brute like strength this:

Unfortunately he would not make it to Yonkou level because he wouldn't have that drive or the responsibility to be stronger than everybody else. Aokiji is what drove him to get stronger faster because of what he did to Robin, and Akainu pushed it even further when Ace dead. Whitebeard, Moriah, Aokiji, and Akainu all said you can't save your crew with guts alone because you need to be stronger to protect them.
As Shanks underline he wouldn't make it up there.
