How do you think things would be now if sasuke lost. Would he have become strong enough to beat itachi? Would the akatsuki be in the position they are now? Would there even be a war right now

well probably his will might of broke or became a criminal. Either way though he would have found a way to become strong. I think he could of managed to pull off karin, strong katon abilities, chidori variants and even hawk summon. But there is no way he would have completed the level that he did (when he faced itachi) w/o a sannin teaching him. However, he wouldn't need to be as strong because I am sure team 7 would have backed him up. I mean .... Kakashi, naruto, yammamato, sai, sakura, sasuke, and the rest of the sasuke search team vs. Itachi/ kisame. it would have been a tough fight for itachi/kisame.
